Annual Reports

Since 1997, we have produced an Annual Report to reflect our work over the years. The first Annual Report accounted for the work of the British-Irish Inter Parliamentary Body in its first seven years.

Since then, an Annual Report for the previous year has been adopted at the next Spring plenary session.

Reports about the Assembly

We have produced a number of one-off reports over the years concentrating on the future of the Assembly. We have also produced a formal account of the first 10 years of the British Irish Inter-Parliamentary Body.

Committees and Reports

Committee reports are presented to plenary sessions which usually comment on them in the form of a resolution. Reports are sent to both Governments and Executives which then make formal replies to the recommendations. These replies are also published and considered by the Assembly in plenary session.

Plenary transcripts

We meet in plenary session twice yearly, alternating between venues in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Each plenary lasts one and a half days and is overseen by the two Co-Chairs. 

Rules of the Assembly

Proceedings in the Assembly and its committees are governed by the Rules for the Conduct of Business.
